In the Pink
Every Spring for years I've wanted to stop and photograph these trees in Allentown. I've never stopped. Where would I park... I'd have to stand in the middle of the road to get the shot... blah blah blah excuses. I've been inspired lately to shoot even if there are barriers.
Yesterday, I stopped.

My 'baby' turned 6 this week. Among her presents... purple Converse.
What could be cooler?

Memories...
About a million years ago, I worked at Unity House Resort in the Poconos. Four magical summers spent on the lake lifeguarding. Sigh. Those were the days. But those days were also 20 years ago, and the resort in question has been closed for those 20 years. The property was purchased, and the Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts was built. Most of the original resort buildings remain. Went to a few events there. It was very nice.
The property has now been purchased by a developer, and its fate is in the hands of the economy. I went back yesterday and met an old co-worker, and we walked around, reminiscing about the wonderful times spent living and working there. This is the old girl today:

Patty Smyth Rocked the Peak!
Well talk about a blast from the 80s.... Patty Smyth and Scandal totally ROCKED Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe last night. Bonus for me... they allowed still photography!

Pinked
So the kid decided that she just had to get "Pinked" for Breast Cancer Awareness. She insisted upon the real streak, rather than the removable clip pink hair extension. No surprise there. Luckily, the folks at Cheryl's Studio are super nice. Nice little salon. I guess if she's going to do something like that, I'd much rather she had it done right.

Kids in the Park - Sneak Peek
We braved the heat and the bugs yesterday and ended up with some great shots of these really adorable kids. He's going to be 3 shortly, and that was the very first thing he told me!

His sweet little sister {Miss Independent} was not letting her big brother do anything without her. She was all smiles and laughter. They were both captivated by the bridge and the water below.
Mom and daughter. What else is there to say?
The kids were great, in spite of the temperature {it was a bit cooler under the trees}. Watch for your proof email, Mom!

Pierced Ears

My little girl decided last night that 5 {yes 5. f.i.v.e. - she' s 5 by the way - as she tells anyone and everyone} was a fine age to have pierced ears. Her big sister got them done at 5, and Miss L decided that she was ready. She chose a lovely pinky-purple color {lest anyone mistake her for a boy - she's all about pink} and she's already making plans for her post piercing stud jewelry.

Longing for OCNJ
It's nearly summer, and I'm longing to get back to the beach. Not much chance this year, but I can dream, can't I? Shot this last year on a trip to OCNJ.

I recently posted this shot to everywhere mag's website. {Go check it out!}
The sun was setting, and the sky was amazing. While we were in line {yup, I went on the big ferris wheel} the fireworks started. Nothing like fireworks at the beach.

I went out early one morning without anyone {gasp - w/o the kids!} and got this one. I think I need a big print to hang in my office. If I suddenly vanish, you'll know where I've gone.

Color inspite of the chilly weather
I've Been Tagged
Debi Lyndl tagged me! Check out her blog - you really want to scroll down to see the fire photos - great stuff!

Okay, so here's the scoop...
The rules are:
1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answer the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
What I was doing 10 years ago:
learning what to do with my 2 month old baby. {how can she be 10 already?}
Five things on my To Do List today:
Work
Send a maternity session welcome
mail prints to an out-of-town client
Girl Scouts {Junior troop leader}
Go to the drive-in tonight {if it doesn't rain} to see Indy and Iron Man.
Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
pay off my debt and some family debt
rent a beach house for the whole summer
Nikon D3 and all the lenses I wanted
support hubby's Maverick restoration addiction
Three of my bad habits:
real popcorn - air popped with real butter and salt
magazines - gotta have 'em
photo equipment purchases
Five places I have lived:
Western Mass
4 places in PA, including the Poconos
Five jobs I’ve had:
Lifeguard
Jewelry sales
Grocery store newspaper insert typesetter {remember cut and paste? waxers?}
Manager/Graphics Print shop
Communications Director/Product Photographer
People I want to know more about (a nice way of saying TAG!):
Adrienne
Darlene
{Ok... it's supposed to be 5, but everyone else I checked out had already been tagged! :( }

Family Sneak Peek
I had the best time with this family today. The little girl is just beautiful. She's friendly, nice and a great big sister. Their boy was a delight. He would have showed me his trains all day. And don't get me started about the baby... she was a joy! So here's your sneak peek, as promised {individual shots only... and you'll be hearing from me before you know it}

Flower Show
Braved the crowds at the Philly Flower show on Sunday. C and I had a great time. Lots to see - and now we both have spring fever. This year's theme was New Orleans Jazz, so there were a lot of instruments and Jazz themes in the displays.

... and of course, there were the flowers...

After the flowers, I surprised her with a day-before-birthday lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. She had a blast! It was quite the experience for my Avril fan.
The train station on the way home is her least favorite part of a trip into the city. {I refuse to drive in and park - Lansdale for me, and the train in to Market East!} She doesn't mind the train trip, she just hates the noise they make coming into the station. She got a cool hoodie at HRC and had to put it on. Hope she didn't think I'd be able to keep my camera in the bag when she leaned against the pillar while waiting...
