Patty Smyth Rocked the Peak!

Well talk about a blast from the 80s.... Patty Smyth and Scandal totally ROCKED Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe last night. Bonus for me... they allowed still photography!

Pinked

So the kid decided that she just had to get "Pinked" for Breast Cancer Awareness. She insisted upon the real streak, rather than the removable clip pink hair extension. No surprise there. Luckily, the folks at Cheryl's Studio are super nice. Nice little salon. I guess if she's going to do something like that, I'd much rather she had it done right.

Before

Dark hair - double process. Had to bleach first!

Holy Pink!

David {and his love}

David wanted his senior pics to include his true love... He's quite the talented guy - painted the truck himself. {We'll be keeping his number for future reference!} Got to meet the family, and take advantage of the wonderful, shady back yard. Great stuff, David! {Mom... get the tissues... }

Kids in the Park - Sneak Peek

We braved the heat and the bugs yesterday and ended up with some great shots of these really adorable kids. He's going to be 3 shortly, and that was the very first thing he told me!

His sweet little sister {Miss Independent} was not letting her big brother do anything without her. She was all smiles and laughter. They were both captivated by the bridge and the water below.

Mom and daughter. What else is there to say?

The kids were great, in spite of the temperature {it was a bit cooler under the trees}. Watch for your proof email, Mom!

Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July! Love these long weekends! {never long enough!} Kids got to pick veggies they'd planted in their Grandmother's garden, eat luscious fruit and play with fireworks {sparklers people - safely, of course! no damage was done to body or property}.

Kasey and Jason

Kasey and Jason are getting ready to welcome a baby in August. They're just the nicest couple, and are so excited about meeting their little girl. Kasey - here's your sneak peek! {told you I wouldn't be able to stand waiting to look at your portraits... this is just a few}

Pierced Ears

My little girl decided last night that 5 {yes 5. f.i.v.e. - she' s 5 by the way - as she tells anyone and everyone} was a fine age to have pierced ears. Her big sister got them done at 5, and Miss L decided that she was ready. She chose a lovely pinky-purple color {lest anyone mistake her for a boy - she's all about pink} and she's already making plans for her post piercing stud jewelry.

Longing for OCNJ

It's nearly summer, and I'm longing to get back to the beach. Not much chance this year, but I can dream, can't I? Shot this last year on a trip to OCNJ.

I recently posted this shot to everywhere mag's website. {Go check it out!}

The sun was setting, and the sky was amazing. While we were in line {yup, I went on the big ferris wheel} the fireworks started. Nothing like fireworks at the beach.

I went out early one morning without anyone {gasp - w/o the kids!} and got this one. I think I need a big print to hang in my office. If I suddenly vanish, you'll know where I've gone.

Color inspite of the chilly weather

Ok, it's May. It's supposed to be warm. We're not supposed to have frost warnings this close to Memorial Day. At least the bulbs were spared by the deer and came up, making it look like Spring, even if it doesn't feel like spring.

I've Been Tagged

Family Sneak Peek

I had the best time with this family today. The little girl is just beautiful. She's friendly, nice and a great big sister. Their boy was a delight. He would have showed me his trains all day. And don't get me started about the baby... she was a joy! So here's your sneak peek, as promised {individual shots only... and you'll be hearing from me before you know it}

Flower Show

Braved the crowds at the Philly Flower show on Sunday. C and I had a great time. Lots to see - and now we both have spring fever. This year's theme was New Orleans Jazz, so there were a lot of instruments and Jazz themes in the displays.

... and of course, there were the flowers...

After the flowers, I surprised her with a day-before-birthday lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. She had a blast! It was quite the experience for my Avril fan.

The train station on the way home is her least favorite part of a trip into the city. {I refuse to drive in and park - Lansdale for me, and the train in to Market East!} She doesn't mind the train trip, she just hates the noise they make coming into the station. She got a cool hoodie at HRC and had to put it on. Hope she didn't think I'd be able to keep my camera in the bag when she leaned against the pillar while waiting...

Glam In the Snow

Talked my 'glam' model into going out in her favorite play dress and her late aunt's fur coat. {my poor mother-in-law refuses to have it in her house, but can't stand to give it up - it was her sister's pride and joy -we're all slightly creeped out by it and after the shoot it went back in its bag and back into the depths of the closet}

Valentines day... the test batch

DD#1 wants to take treat bags to school {providing they have it with the weather they're predicting} on Valentine's Day. She has a remarkably small 4th grade class - only 16 kids - so in addition to the kisses, I thought we'd put in a nice, big, heart cookie. Saw this recipe on one of my favorite ingredient source's website {King Arthur Flour, of course} and decided to try it. Sneaky mom, putting oats and white wheat flour in a cookie... but they're really good.

Chewy Oatmeal Decorating Cookies
Miss L has had at least 2 this morning {that she asked for... who knows how many she quietly slipped off the plate!}. The colored sugar adds just a big of extra sweetness. Royal icing would be too much.

They're kicking the kids out of school at 12:30 today, and canceling all after school activities... so we'll see what the weather brings. It's a whopping 11 degrees out right now, so the neat-o idea I had for an outside shoot will wait until it's warmer. {ya know, at least 30 or so haha}

Maybe I'll get out the speedlight and try out the new bracket/umbrella combo and see how that goes. Until later!!

Stepdancers

I feel like I dropped off the planet for a week or so... maybe more! It was show time for the ICS Stepdancers. Both my dear girls danced this year... no sitting out {grumping} for L this year - she was on stage too! {and refused to leave at one point}

I'm up to my eyeballs in dancer photos, so here is a peek at the group shot of one of the classes at dress rehearsal.They all did a wonderful job. Great show! Now it's time to get ready for the St. Pat's day Parade.

She Can't Decide

My dd can't decide if she wants to design the clothes, model them, or shoot them! She pulled this dress out of the dress-up box and we went from there. I played with my new actions and here we are...
